چکیده

In order to improve the yield of BN nanotubes prepared by ball milling annealing method, a small amount magnesium was used as catalyst synthesized boron nitride nanotubes. The results showed that with high yield, purity and uniform size were synthesized. morphology BNNTs is bamboo-like cylinder-shaped. diameter them about 50 150 nm most are 100nm. length dozens microns. existence end particles indicates growth mechanism can be attributed gas-liquid-solid model. catalyzed preparation has stable process, purity, which expected good method for large-scale

Evaluation of catalyst ball-milling process on growth and diameter of carbon nanotubes on iron nanoparticles

In this study, we describe the growth of carbon nanotubes on commercial iron nanoparticles without carbon shell (Fe (nm), size 2O3 and Fe* (nm)/MgO) was carried out by mixing commercial Fe* nanoparticles (as catalyst) with Al2O3 and MgO powders (as supports)by using ball-milling method. The results show in spite of the fact that ball-milling process can have neg...

Effect of CaO on the Formation of PSZ and γ-Zirconia Nanoparticles through Ball Milling

The effect of CaO on the formation of β- and γ-zirconia nanoparticles from α-zirconia was investigated and their stability evaluated via mechanical activation. α-ZrO2+8.5wt%CaO powder was milled for 2-150 hours with ball-to-powder weight ratios (BPWR) of 40:1 and 60:1. Structural evaluations were conducted using X-Ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Thermal analysis wa...

Facile synthesis and regeneration of Mg(BH4)2 by high energy reactive ball milling of MgB2.

We report direct hydrogenation of MgB(2) in a planetary ball mill. Magnesium borohydride, Mg(BH(4))(2), and various polyhedral borane anion salts have been synthesized at pressures between 50 and 350 bar H(2) without the need for subsequent isothermal hydrogenation at elevated temperature and pressure. The obtained products release ∼4 wt% H(2) below 390 °C, and a major portion of Mg(BH(4))(2) t...
